LUCKNOW – AYODHYA (1) - LUCKNOW (1) - DEPARTURE
DAY 1: ARRIVE LUCKNOW - DRIVE AYODHYA (136 KMS / 3 HRS)
Arrive Lucknow Airport/Railway station, you will be met our Oceantics Holidays representative and drive to Ayodhya, The Land of Lord Shri Ram (Birth Pace of lord Rama).
Ayodhya: Ayodhya is a city situated on the banks of holy river Saryu. In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, is one of the holiest cities of Hinduism and attracts thousands of pilgrims throughout the year. Ayodhya, also known as Saket, is an ancient city of India, is the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Ram and setting of the great epic Ramayana. Owing to the belief as the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Ram, Ayodhya (Awadhpuri) has been regarded as first one of the seven most important pilgrimage sites (Mokshdayini Sapt Puris) for Hindus.
The city is dotted with temples, some of which are connected to the ghats (stepped banks of the river) of Saryu. The city looks particularly glorious during Deepotsav, celebrated on the day of Diwali, during which lakhs of earthen lamps are lit. The sight of them floating on the Saryu is mesmerising. The best time to visit the city is during Diwali celebrations when temples are resplendent and streets are in full festive uproar.

In afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel and will be taken for sightseeing tour of Ayodhya:
Shri Ram Temple, It is the name given to the site that many Hindus believe to be the birthplace of Rama, the 7th avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu. Hanuman Gahri and Kanak Bhawan, are important Hindu temples we visit before lunch is taken at the temple complex of Kanak Bhawan ( Beverage Excluded ). After lunch we will reach Kanchan Bhawan the starting point of our Mokshdayani Walk. Strolling along the Saryu river we will reach Nageshwarnath temple. Here we board our boat to enjoy a short ride on the fast flowing river. Later we reach the ghat to witness the Aarti ceremony, a Hindu religious ritual of worship.
Overnight stay in Ayodhya.
DAY 2: DRIVE AYODHYA – LUCKNOW (136 KMS / 3 HRS)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel, you will be picked up from your hotel and driver to Lucknow, The city of Nawab and Kabab, both.
On arrival check in to the hotel and freshen up.
In afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel and will be taken for sightseeing tour of Lucknow:
Bada Imambada (Bhool Bhulaiyaa): Bada Imambada was built by Asaf-ud-Daula, Nawab of Lucknow, in 1784. It is also known as Asafi Imambada, Bara means big, and an imambada is a shrine built by Shia Muslims for the purpose of Azadari. The Bara Imambada is among the grandest buildings of Lucknow city.
Rumi Darwaza, is an imposing gateway which was built by Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daula in 1784.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa is located inside Bada imambada campus, which is one of the main places to explore, in Lucknow city. The real fun lies in going inside bhool bhulaiyaa and try to figure out your way out. It can be difficult & frustrating when you always lead to wrong path, but it's fun and you feel like winner when you come out of it. Inside the Imambada, Bhool Bhualaiyaa, Asfi Mosque, a grave of Asaf ud-Daula under a canopy, Shahi Bawli, and Domed Chamber.
Lunch is recommended at Dastarkhwan or Tunde Kawabi for authentic local and pure Mughlai Kabab food (on direct payment basis).
British Residency: The Residency, also called as the British Residency and Residency Complex, is a group of several buildings in a common precinct in the city of Lucknow. It served as the residence for the British Resident General who was a representative in the court of the Nawab. The Residency is located in the heart of the city, in the vicinity of other monuments like Shaheed Smarak, Tehri Kothi and High Court Building. Construction started during the rule of Nawab Asaf-ud-Daulah and ended during the rule of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan II, who was the fifth Nawab of the province of Awadh (British spelling Oudh). Construction took place between 1780 and 1800 AD.
In the evening explore Hazratganj, is the downtown and the main shopping centre of Lucknow, famous for Chikan: “Popular believed to be introduced by Nur Jehan, the Mughal empress exclusive chikankari is one of the most Lucknow’s culture famous textile decoration style. It is well known of hand crafted Chikan embroidery”, also famous for Silk and cotton fabrics and many more.
After that, dinner and over night at hotel, Lucknow.
DAY 3: DEPART LUCKNOW
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport or Railway station for onward destination.
