Dhatus
The term exactly means that which supports the body functions. These are necessary functional tissues of the body. They are seven in number.
1. Rasa (Plasma) | 2. Raktha (Blood) | 3. Mamsa (Muscle) | 4. Medas (Fat) | 5. Asthi (Bone) |
6. Majja (Bone Marrow) | 7. Sukla (Semen and Ovum) |
Malas
The word exactly means that which contaminates the body. These are metabolic bi-products created in the body. These are eliminated as Sweat, Urine and faeces. On the entire, human body depends mostly on the Doshas. Dhatus and Malas just like a tree depending only on its roots.
Agani
The theory of Agni is a exclusive thing in Ayurveda Science. In external world it is experiential as the form of solar energy. The representative of this Solar Energy in the living organism, which is responsible for all type of metabolism, is called as Agni. Since the tissues of the living body are not exactly similar to the food we eat, the food should be converted in such a manner so that they are absorbed into the system to reach energy cells of the body for its maintenance. This exchange is brought about by Agni.
Trigunas
The word exactly means three virtues or three properties. These are the three exact properties of the Mind. They are Satwa/Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. Qualities of these three Gunas are
1. Satwa or Sattva: | Cleanliness, faith in God, interested in truth, good morals and Intelligence |
2. Rajas: | Over talking, ego, Anger unhealthy Competitions. |
2. Tamas: | Fear, Absence of knowledge, inadequate knowledge, abnormal sleep laziness and depression. |
Prakruthi
The Prakruthi or basic constitutional nature of every entity is determined at the time of origin. At this phase the constitution of the entity is determined by the permutations and combinations of the five necessary eternal elements that manifests in the parents 'SUKRA' and -ARTHAVA'(Male and Female gametes). Once birth has genetically made its elemental in print, we cannot change to suit our needs. While we may be partial positively or negatively by our society, society and surroundings our basic nature at birth is established from the interlacing of the five eternal elements and the combination of these elements present on birth remains constant. But the arrangement of elements that stimulates the nonstop Physiopathological events in the body alters in answer to the changes in the environment, food habits and daily routine etc.
According to Ayurveda there are seven Prakrutis or Constituted types.
1. Vatha Type | 2. Pitha Type | 3. Kapha Type | 4. Vatha Pitha Type | 5. Vatha Kapha Type |
6. Pitha Kapha Type | 7. Vatha Pitha Kapha Type |
Vatha type, Pitha type and Kapha type are the three important constitutional natures.
